Building better
– 1976 –
Our founder, K.Z. Islam, a true visionary, started his business with the name Nirman, meaning ‘to build’ in Bengali. But, this simple, sophisticated name only tells part of our story.
Crucially, Nirman was founded to build better – not just to deliver, but to deliver consistently and confidently, helping our clients and partners achieve their goals.
Building communitites
– 1980 –
By the 1980s, K.Z. Islam’s reputation for quality, commitment and vision was already becoming well established. In 1983, he took this same approach to an entirely new task: becoming the president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board.
This was the start of a long journey, taking Nirman from a trusted partner in construction into a household name in sports. With the launch of Nirman School Cricket, K.Z. Islam played a key role in building Bangladesh cricket – including inspiring a new generation of players.
Nirman also began a longstanding focus on supporting and enriching local communities – including developing Sreepur Village, an orphanage for women and children at cost price.

Building our future
– 2000 –
In more recent years, Nirman’s work has extended into consulting and turn-key engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) in areas like power generation, as well as development of luxury residential and commercial spaces. With quality still at our core, we’re laying the foundations for the next stage of our success.
At the same time, we’re leading the way in responsibility. Beyond financial support to communities and key projects, we’re using eco-friendly materials and constantly evolving everything we do to create a healthier, more sustainable future.
